e-Labs

• e-Labs issues tracking page (Google Doc)
• Investigating differences between i2u2-prod-24 and i2u2-prod-24-test. Lots of differences in the live webapp directory possibly due to the build process. Apache Ant mailing list has so far not been responsive to request for help.
• Scratch folder buildup caused problems with the main e-Labs site on ,**i2u2-prod-24-test** over the weekend. Hopefully fixed now.

Cosmic

• Cosmic Watches have been very popular at workshops. Several teachers have asked about purchasing CWs. We have piloted making, and selling CWs at cost with one teacher. It is a moderate time-sink so far. Perhaps we should get an evaluation from the teacher.
• Cosmic Ray e-Lab analyses have dropped to 100/month compared to a normal 3000/month before the loss of Uploading
• e-Lab user (Terry Hart with DAQ5000s) has consulted with Edit and has a prototype standalone Python program to read raw data files in order to create a lifetime plot. This is good but we'll have to discuss the many of the hardware issues that have to be corrected to get an absolute time. We strongly prefer that we put effort into fixing the upload issues but mentors are considering desparate solutions.
• The pyramid detector readout has had a synchronization problem for a few months while we wait to a stand to be completed in Mexico City. The synchronization has been solved using the detector in Chicago. The detector in Mexico City should be moving to installation at Chichen Itza soon.

CMS

• Masterclass preparation

  • CIMA is out for IMC 2026 - replace with Google Sheets.
  • We are exploring the limit of simultaneous access to any one sheet. Google says it is 100.
  • Tom has been exploring the use of Google Sheets (the API): with a python script one can specify the name of the group, and the number of students in the group, and from a template sheet a new sheet is generated in Drive

  • Currently Tom is using his own Google account and Drive (while developing and debugging) but has made a service account which would be a better longer-term - possible switch to QN Shared Drive.
• IMC ramp-up
  • We currently have 33 registrations for FNAL-QN masterclasses: 7 ATLAS, 16 CMS, and 10 MINERvA, 3 NOvA. The schedule is at https://quarknet.org/mc-comm#vc .
  • CMS documentation (https://quarknet.org/cmsdoc2026) and CMS Library page (https://quarknet.org/content/cms-wzh-path-measurement) are updated for Google Sheets; further edits may be needed.
  • Screencasts need to be updated.
  • CMS website at (https://web.quarknet.org/mc/cms/) needs updating too - not sure how to treat it.
  • New iSpy and Google Sheets:
    • We have 100 Run 2 data files (10^4 events). Ken has asked for the addition of another 100 from Run 1 as there are some very big masterclasses.
    • Two LHC fellows tried new iSpy. They were enthusuastic, with suggestions.
    • Notes from McCauley, LHC fellows, Cecire are available.
