Drupal Development

The site http://quarknet.i2u2.org was developed by Xeno Media, the Chicago-based company that works closely with Fermilab to develop the lab's web-based content.

The site was originally created in Drupal Commons 2.x-6.x and hosted from the i2u2 servers at the MCS division of Argonne. Since creation, it has been maintained by Xeno Media.

In Q1 2016, QuarkNet moved data operations from Argonne to Notre Dame's Center for Research Computing (CRC). We created a VM i2u2-quarknet there to host the site, but a PHP conflict followed by the end-of-life of Drupal 6 prevented us from hosting the site from CRC servers.

Xeno Media transferred the site from Argonne to Rackspace and then to Pantheon for hosting. Ultimately, however, we would like to move it to the i2u2-quarknet VM at the CRC along with the rest of our online resources. This will require a major upgrade or even redevelopment of the site.
